My Favorite Groups of All Time


1. Bobby Fuller Four
I Fought The Law. Bobby lived in my hometown of El Paso for a time and I heard that he was dating a girl from my high school.

2. Beatles
A Taste of Honey- bought this record in my teens. Can't remember what was on the flip side. Day Tripper is one of many favorites. 

3. Beach Boys
California Girls, et al. They will always be one of the great American groups.

4. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons
Rag Doll and Let's Hang On were among their many hits.

5. Dave Clark 5
Glad All Over - bought their record and magazines about them.

6.Creedence Clearwater Revival
These guys were out of this world. When I was in Mexico City the radio stations ate them up. Some of my favorites are Green River and Down on the Corner.

7.Beegees
Like all their disco songs especially like
Night Fever and Stayin Alive. Their early stuff was good too like How Can You Mend a Broken Heart?

8.Gypsy Kings
Saw them on PBS and fell in love with them. I have a cassette tape of some of their songs. Great guitars man!

9. Huey Lewis and the News
Really like Power of Love and Need a New Drug among many others. Bought one of their albums.

My Favorite Male Singers of All Time


1. Marvin Gaye
Pure soul. Heard him in the grocery store the other day singing Mercy Mercy Me (The ecology song). Reminded me to put him on my list as one of the greatest. Also like What's Going On.

2. Neil Diamond
How can I forget this guy? Among my many favorites: Hello Again, Solitary Man.

3. Jose Feliciano
His best song:
 Light My Fire. Heard it on the radio yesterday-awesome! Went to his concert at BYU in the mid-70's.

2. Elton John
Especially like Can You Feel The Love Tonight.

3. Phil Collins
Two Hearts and Sussudio, his best I think.

4. John Lennon
Really like his songs Woman and Imagine - bought his greatest hits cassette.

5. Del Shannon
Runaway - went to a youth activity where they played this song on a record player.

6. Lou Rawls

You'll Never Find. Has the greatest deep, bass voice.

7. Stevie Wonder
Isn't She Lovely - dedicated this song to our first daughter after she was born.

8. Bill Withers
Ain't No Sunshine (When She's Gone)

My Favorite Female Singers of All Time


1. Karen Carpenter (Carpenters)
I especially like This Masquerade and Superstar. Saw her and Richard in concert in El Paso, Texas.

2. Marilyn McCoo (Fifth Dimension)
Saw them in concert in El Paso too. Especially like Last Night (I Didn't Get to Sleep at All) and One Less Bell to Answer.

3. Taylor Dayne
I'll Be Your Shelter - this song gave me a lot of comfort during a tough time in my life.

4. Gladys Knight (and the Pips)
Midnight Train to Georgia is her best song, I think. I Heard it Through the Grapevine is the best version of this particular song.

1. You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', The Righteous Brothers.
Their greatest hits album was one of the first records I ever bought.

Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me), The Temptations
This song was me in high school, always imagining having a girl friend.

Have always liked rain and sad songs.

You Make Me Feel Brand New, The Stylistics
My Mom liked this one too.

You Are So Beautiful, Joe Cocker
Heard Chicago sing this in concert in El Paso, Texas.

6. (I Can't Get No)
Satisfaction, Rolling Stones
Bought this 45 rpm record.

California Dreamin', The Mamas and the Papas
This song reminds me of my high school days in El Paso.

Stayin' Alive, Beegees
Still remember the Richfield High School (Utah) dancers dancing to this at a basketball game where I was doing the radio play-by-play.

Gonna Fly Now (Theme from “Rocky”), Bill Conti
Used this music to promote the broadcast of the basketball games.
